Kanta Harusaki “Out Of This World” Solo Exhibition

Kanta Harusaki “Out Of This World” Solo Exhibition

Kanta Harusaki, during his school days, studied interior design. Upon graduating, he naturally pursued a career in interior design and worked for about 10 years in the role of an architectural illustrator. During this period, he had chances of using various art materials, but he always had a special fondness for the transparency and blending effects of watercolors. Consequently, watercolor became his primary medium for illustration, eventually leading him to become a professional watercolor artist. He began traveling across Japan, depicting local landscapes with watercolors and holding exhibitions throughout the country.

His style is characterized by the free flow of water. Instead of using brushes, he prefers directly mixing colors on paper. He manipulates water to drive changes in color, embracing a spontaneous approach where water's movement dictates the creation. This painting style requires not only technical skill but also exceptional visual acuity to capture the beauty of colors produced by these movements at the opportune moments and ability to utilize them effectively. Kanta Harusaki says, "What I aim to express is the aesthetic created by 'accidents.'"

Opening Ceremony on Thursday, April 11, at 2:00 PM, features a simultaneous small-scale demonstration. Visitors are welcome to attend.
