    Einstein Academic Foundation-Peace Prize
International Biographies Association – Outstanding Achievement Award

Born in Fujian, China, he moved to the Philippines with his family at the age of 10. He studied under the famous Southeast Asian teacher “Yang Gentang” and majored in art at university. At the age of 29, he participated in the Philippine National Art Competition and won the championship, and has since emerged in the art world. In his early years, he had close contact with the Taiwanese art scene. Zao Wou-Ki and Chu Teh-Chun in Paris were also his old acquaintances. The initial style was influenced by Fauvism, but began to change in 1971, from decorative style to abstract painting in blue and white tones. In the same year, he successively held art exhibitions in New York, Paris, Los Angeles, and other places. In 1990, he settled in Yilan with his daughter.

Listed in the World’s Who’s Who by the Cambridge International Celebrity Biography Association in the UK, and having won numerous awards over half a century, Cai Yuncheng founded the unique “Blue School” of painting, using blue instead of ink for ink paintings, and using crayons to create oil painting effects. Oriental ink painting integrates Western art theory and scientific spirit; it will be awarded the Outstanding Achievement Award by the “International Biography Society” in Cambridge, England, and is listed in the World’s Who’s Who; it has also been included in the “Honor Roll” published by the American Biography Society; Belgium and The Spanish Association has also awarded creation awards and other honors.

What attracted the most attention to the world’s painting circles was that in 1990, Cai Yuncheng was awarded the Peace Prize by the Einstein Academic Foundation of the United States; this award has always been awarded to political or religious leaders, and it was not until Cai Yuncheng won the award that the convention was broken; in addition, in 1996, Cai Yuncheng’s The oil painting won an award at the Rubens International Art Festival (held once every 100 years) held on France’s 400th National Day, becoming the only Chinese artist to win the award.
Cai Yuncheng regards Yilan as his hometown. In 2001, he donated 60 paintings to a charity sale to help raise funds for the critical care building project of Our Lady’s Hospital, giving back to this land with practical actions.
